A. The present simple negative (Thì hiện tại đơn ở thể phủ định)

A: Coffee? (Cà phê không?)
B: No, thanks. I don’t drink coffee (Không, cảm ơn. Tôi không uống cà phê)

I don’t like my job (Tôi không thích công việc của tôi)

She doesn’t drink coffee (Cô ấy không uống cà phê)

He doesn’t like his job (Anh ấy không thích công việc của anh ấy)

Examples (Ví dụ):

I drink coffee, but I don’t drink tea
(Tôi uống cà phê, nhưng tôi không uống trà)

Sue drinks tea, but she doesn’t drink coffee
(Sue uống trà, nhưng cô ấy không uống cà phê.)

You don’t work very hard
(Bạn không làm việc quá chăm chỉ)

We don’t watch television very often.
(Chúng tôi không xem tivi thường xuyên lắm)

The weather is usually nice. It doesn’t rain very often
(Thời tiết thường xuyên đẹp. Trời không mưa thường xuyên lắm.)

Gary and Nicole don’t know many people
(Gary và Nicole không biết nhiều người.)

Note (Chú ý)

We use don’t/doesn’t + infinitive
Chúng ta sử dụng don’t/doesn’t + nguyên thể (don’t like/doesn’t speak/doesn’t do etc)

Example (Ví dụ)

I don’t like washing the car. I don’t do it very often
(Tôi không thích rửa xe. Tôi không làm điều đó thường xuyên lắm.)

Sarah speaks Spanish, but she doesn’t speak Italian
(Sarah nói tiếng Tây Ban Nha, nhưng cô ấy không nói tiếng Ý.)

Bill doesn’t do his job very well
(Bill không làm công việc của anh ý tốt lắm)

Paula doesn’t usually have breakfast
(Paula không thường xuyên ăn sáng)

Exercise 3: Complete the sentences. All of them are negative. Use do not/does not + these verbs
