A. People (người)

We/us: Chúng tôi

You/you: Bạn

He/him: Anh ấy

She/her: Cô ấy

They/them: Họ

Subject – Đại từ nhân xưng làm Chủ ngữ:

B. Things (đồ vật/ sự vật) 

I don’t want this book. You can have it.
(Tôi không muốn cuốn sách này. Bạn có thể cầm nó.)

I don’t want these books. You can have them.
(Tôi không muốn những cuốn sách này. Bạn có thể cầm chúng.)

Diane never drinks milk. She doesn’t like it.
(Diane không bao giờ uống sữa. Cô ấy không thích nó.)

I never go to parties. I don’t like them.
(Tôi không bao giờ đi dự các bữa tiệc. Tôi không thích chúng.)

C. Cách sử dụng me/her/them … với một giới từ

We use me/her/them etc (object) after a preposition (for/to/with etc.):
(Chúng ta sử dụng me/her/them etc. (tân ngữ) sau 1 giới từ (for/to/with …):)

This letter isn’t for me. It’s for you.
(Lá thư này không phải cho tôi. Nó gửi cho bạn.)

Who is that woman? Why are you looking at her?
(Người phụ nữ đó là ai? Tại sao bạn lại nhìn đến cô ấy?)

We’re going to the cinema. Do you want to come with us?
(Chúng tôi sẽ đến rạp chiếu phim. Bạn có muốn đi cùng chúng tôi không?)

Sue and Kevin are going to the cinema. Do you want to go with them?
(Sue và Kevin sẽ đến rạp chiếu phim. Bạn có muốn đi cùng họ không?)

Where’s the newspaper? – You’re sitting on it.
(Tờ báo đâu rồi nhỉ? – Bạn đang ngồi lên nó đó.)

Give it/ them to…: (đưa nó/ chúng cho ….) 

I want that book. Please give it to me.
(Tôi muốn quyển sách đó. Xin hãy đưa nó cho tôi.)

Robert needs these books. Can you give them to him, please?
(Robert cần những quyển sách đó. Bạn có thể đưa chúng cho anh ấy không?)

Exercise 3: Write sentences beginning I like …, I don’t like … or Do you like… ?
