1. Are Vietnamese people fond of barbecue?

I think we do, but not all types of barbecues are attractive to us. We are deeply into Korean-style barbecue. In these places, we could enjoy well-seasoned pork slices and beef grilled on a disk-like broiler. Nevertheless, Western or American style is just not to our liking because we are not familiar with these flavors. They seem to be more salty.

2. What kind of food would you love to eat for barbecue?

Beef is on the top of my list when I am having a grill feast. I enjoy plates and ribs, and they never fail to make it to my order paper when I’m eating out with friends in a barbecue restaurant. I just love my meat sliced into thin pieces and soaked in chili sauces. Sometimes, my family talks me out of eating greasy food because barbecue doesn’t do my health any good. However, I still turn a deaf ear to their advice.

3. Did you have barbecue when you were small?

I had grilled meat from a restaurant for the first time when I was in high school . It was a barbecue-modeled restaurant that was famous in my neighborhood. It just occurred to me that we also had street vendors selling bamboo barbecue skewers in Vietnam. The meat can be used to make the fillings of a Vietnamese sandwich, which is called banh mi.
